How to prepare for Budapest airport!

Preparing for your arrival at Budapest Airport can help streamline your journey and ensure a smooth transition into the city. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to prepare:

• Having credit or debit cards will save you a lot of trouble, especially if you have a Revolut card (makes currency exchange a few clicks away).

 

Transportation Options:

• At the airport, you have several options to get to your destination in the city. The cheapest would be to use the airport shuttle bus (4 Euros/1500 Forint), and you could buy the tickets from a purple machine just at the exit of the airport. The airport shuttle bus drops you at the city center, and from there you could use taxis or public transportation to get to your destination.
• Other option would be to use a taxi, and they accept credit card payments. They have a small office at the exit of the airport next to the taxis and buses. They give a fair price, so you don’t need to worry if they will cheat you. This option is the most expensive of all options but is the best in my opinion especially if you are carrying some big luggage with you or you are 4 persons.
• Another option would be to use the airport minibus which carries up to 12 persons and each person pays 6 Euros, and it will drop each passenger at the required location.
• Last but not least is to pre-book airport transfer service if desired to ensure a hassle-free journey from the airport to your destination.

 

Communication and Connectivity:

• Activate international roaming on your mobile phone plan or purchase a local SIM card upon arrival at Budapest Airport for access to mobile data and communication services.
• Download offline maps or transportation apps to navigate the city easily without relying on internet connectivity.
• Get a city map for free at the information center inside the airport.
